Debbie Heath

Debbie Heath, age 63, of Pekin, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026, in New Albany. She was born on March 26, 1963, in Libertyville, Illinois, the daughter of John Colbert Smith and Phyllis (Hendee) Smith.

Debbie was a graduate of Purdue University and formally worked in the East Washington School System in transportation for over 10 years.

Survivors include her husband, Paul “Chip” Heath, whom she married on August 22, 1987; two children, Jessica (Wesley) Bodenbender and Ryan Thomas Heath; one brother, John Franklin Smith; one sister, Elizabeth Smith; and three grandchildren, Paul Bodenbender, Clint Bodenbender and Reuben Bodenbender

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home – Pekin Chapel. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at noon at the funeral home in Pekin. Burial will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery at Willey’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
