Dale R Thomas, age 76, of Pekin, died at 7:30 AM December 30, 2011 at his residence. Born on July 9, 1935, he was the son of the late William H. Thomas and Mary Matthews Thomas. On June 28, 1986 he married Shanda Hall Thomas, who survives. He was an Army Veteran. He was a Lifetime Member of Bunker Hill Christian Church. He was a Retired Rural Mail Carrier for the Pekin area for over 26 years. Other Survivors include; 1 son, Jeff Thomas of Pekin, IN.; 2 daughters, Jill (Brian) Bailey of Bloomington, IN. and Jeannie (Tom) Doebler of Pekin, IN.; 1 step-son, Ian (Kimberley) Young of Denver, Colorado; 1 step-daughter Leigh Ray of Pekin, IN.; 1 sister, Shirley (Paul) Cooke of Salem, IN.; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Proceded in death by 1 sister, Betty Fitzpatrick. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Monday at the Bunker Hill Christian Church. Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Sunday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home (Salem) and from 9:00 AM Monday until time of service at the church.
