Clarence “Brad” Johnson, age 78, of Salem, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, at University of Louisville Hospital. Born February 10, 1946 in Salem, he was the son of the late Carl M and Ethel (Walton) Johnson. On April 22, 1972, he married Trudy (Nantz) Johnson, who survives.
Prior to retirement, he worked for Smith Cabinet and Impact Forge and served his country in the United States Navy & the National Guard. Clarence loved God, his family, fishing, guns and flea markets.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 52 years, Trudy Johnson; his 2 children: Mindy Marie McDonald (Jim) of Vine Grove and Martina Nichole Johnson of New Albany; 1 brother: Carl B Johnson of Campbellsburg; 3 sisters: Rita V Yeamans of Vale, Oregon, Jesse P Shelton of Salem and Della C Lewis of Columbus, Indiana; 3 grandchildren: Malloy Johnson, Kenzie Johnson, and Madison McDonald and 1 great-grandchild: Silas McDonald.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl M & Ethel Johnson; 3 brothers: Steven D Johnson, Arthur B Johnson, and Alvin B Johnson and 2 sisters: Donna J Smith and Blenda E Smith.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, from 5 pm until 7 pm, at the Canton Methodist Church.
