Cindy Sparks

Cynthia "Cindy" Sparks, age 69, of Orleans, passed away Monday, June 22, 2026, at her residence. Born February 28, 1957, in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice Marie (Kay) Stivers.

Cindy’s greatest joy in life was being a mother. She loved her family deeply and always made sure everyone around her was taken care of. She had a caring heart and spent many years helping others as a caregiver. Cindy enjoyed taking care of her houseplants and spending time with her beloved dog, Jenny, who was always by her side. When she was younger, she loved riding four-wheelers and shooting guns. She will be remembered for her kind heart, the love she had for her family, and the many lives she touched through her care and compassion.

She is survived by her three children: Johnathan Wayne Jackson, Stacey Renee Jackson and Amy Dawn (Josh) Meeks; one brother: Arthur E. Stivers; and two sisters: Nancy Hendrich and Mary Bowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Fred Robert; one son: Kevin Sparks; and one brother: John Stivers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home - Salem Chapel. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem.
