Carol Jean Sanders

Carol Jean Sanders, age 72, of Salem passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Ascension St. Vincent Salem Hospital.  Born February 13, 1951 in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Farmer Ledford and Sophia (Herd) Ledford.

Carol retired from Kimball International with 35 years of service and was a member of Old Blue River Christian Church.

She is survived by 2 sons: Roy Lee Sanders (Beth) and Christopher R. Sanders; 2 sisters: Alice Faye Voyles and Phyllis Spears; sister-in-law, Margie Ledford; 2 grandchildren: Casey Brewer and Hailey Sanders; and 1 great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Farmer and Sophia Ledford; husband, Ervin Sanders; son, Clinton Brewer; 2 brothers: James Farmer Ledford and Danny Ledford; and sister, Evangeline Ledford.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Salem Chapel with Tom Fultz officiating.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.  Burial to follow in Palmyra Cemetery.
