Betty A. (Bowers) Thomas

Betty A. (Bowers) Thomas, age 86, died on Monday January 30, 2012 at her residence in Borden. Born on February 13, 1925 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Carl Sheridan Bowers and Hazel Francis (Fisher) Bowers. She graduated from Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis, Butler University and taught school in Borden until her retirement in 1970. Also, she was a faithful member of the Borden Community Church and their organist for many years. Survivors include; 2 sons, Richard K. Thomas of Borden, and Timothy K. (Karen) Thomas of Indianapolis; 1 daughter, Carla F. (Kevin) Akers of Borden; Grandchildren, Kyle (Shelley-Deceased), Kara, Alissa (Treves), Michael and Ryan (Jessica); Great-Grandchildren, Noelle, Wesley, Alexis, Addison, Lilly and Claire. Proceded in death by her Husband of 60 years, Mason E. Thomas and Brothers John and Donald Bowers. The Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday at the Borden Community Church. Viewing will be from 5-8 PM on Thursday at the church and Friday from 9:30 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
