Robert Lewis Montgomery

Robert Lewis Montgomery, 77, of Pekin, Indiana, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Louisville.  Born on May 16, 1941 in Gallipolis, Ohio, he was the son of the late John Montgomery & Irene Phillips Montgomery.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pekin, a retired equipment operator for the Washington County Highway Department. Robert was an Army Veteran, and a member of American Legion.

He married Nancy Pauline Whitehead on May 4, 1968 who preceded him in death on April 12, 2018.

Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda Lynn (Mark) Danser of Pekin, son, Steve (Tammy) James, brother, Howard W. Montgomery, sisters, Margaret Myers of Gallipolis, OH and Frances Phillips, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, a brother, Jerry Montgomery, 2 sisters, Barbara Jean Branham and Janet Faye Allen.

The funeral service will be Monday, June 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Pekin with Brother Jerry Goodwin officiating.  Viewing will be Sunday, June 10 from 4-8 p.m. at the church and Monday from 9:30 a.m. until service time.  Burial will be at Conway Cemetery with full military graveside rites.
